With the Sinister Six movie coming before the next Spider-Man standalone film, will the team-up of some of the web slinger's biggest foes create a lot of ramifications when the next movie comes along? Or will Spider-Man only face a few of those featured in the villain team-up?

Is This Villain Headed To 'Sinister Six' To Set Up A Standalone Movie?

As of now, not much is known about the plot of the Sinister Six and if Spider-Man will make his way into the story to fight the villains. Star Andrew Garfield has already voiced his confidence in director Drew Goddard to The Toronto Sun recently and was noncommittal about showing up at all. So could the Sinister Six not feature the hero and just be about the team getting ready to fight him?

It is safe of assume that involved or not, Garfield will have some sort of role in both films, especially the third Spider-Man movie since he's the star, and having him in Sinister Six would allow the villain team-up to have people facing Spider-Man but also allowing these bad guys to have their stories fleshed out.

Is Spider-Man Getting A New Actor In The Third Movie?

But what happens to those that are defeated? It seems like most likely some of the Sinister Six will be defeated and put in jail, but some could escape and pop up again in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 namely a few of the villains who have yet to appear in a standalone movie like Kraven the Hunter or Mysterio.

Having those villains in the Sinister Six movie would allow their origins to be told so when they meet Spider-Man in the next movie, they could just focus on the fighting and relationship between them and the hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is set to open in theaters at some point in 2018.
