'Jersey Shore' Season 6 Chatter

On Wednesday, NJ.com reported that Mike Sorrentino (also known as 'The Situation') could face charges for allegedly conspiring to defraud the United States with false income tax returns, according to U.S. attorney Paul Fishman.

The site mentioned that the reality star pleaded not guilty for failing to properly pay his taxes on nearly $9 million in income, which consist of cash payouts for appearances at liquor stores, nightclubs and bars.

"The situation will sort itself out," Sorrentino said, giving the impression that he may have been intending a pun.

The Jersey Shore star could go to prison for up to 11 years if convicted. His brother, Marc, who was reportedly charged in the same indictment could go to prison for 14 years.

"Michael and Marc Sorrentino filed false tax returns that incorrectly reported millions made from promotions and appearances," Fishman said. "The brothers allegedly also claimed costly clothes and cars as business expenses and funneled company into personal accounts. The law is absolutely clear: telling the truth to the IRS is not optional."

The brothers have also reportedly been accused of buying fancy cars and clothes for their own personal use and writing them off for business expenses.

The site also pointed out that 'The Situation' allegedly failed to file a tax return in 2011, which is apparently the same year that he made $1.95 million in income.
