"At 7:03 PM on September 26th, we finally met Charlotte. We're in love," Clinton wrote as the caption.

However, the proud parents aren't the only ones who are elated with Charlotte's birth. Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton couldn't hide their excitement over their first grandchild.

Hillary shared an adorable photo on Twitter, in which she and her husband held their granddaughter. "@BillClinton and I are over the moon to be grandparents! One of the happiest moments of our life," she wrote as the caption.

Bill posted another photo with a special message to the family's new addition: "Charlotte, your grandmother @HillaryClinton and I couldn't be happier!"

The former president also recently expressed his high hopes for his grandchild. "I want my grandson or granddaughter to get up every day and look at the world with wonder and reverence," he told George Stephanopoulos at the annual Clinton Global Initiative in New York City this month. "I want them to respect everyone they meet, whatever their background. I want them to really love being alive and when they grow up I want them to believe they have certain obligations to people who don't have all the opportunities they'll have."
