Jonathan Bennett, one of the final nine celebrities competing on ABC's Dancing With the Stars, was surprised by his very low scores in Monday night's episode.

Bennett and Holker performed a Samba with enthusiasm but the three judges blasted him for not having the technique of the dance down. Carrie Ann Inaba even said that it was a "one-dimensional performance." All three judges scored him and Holker a 6 out of 10, as did America.

After the show, Bennett and Holker spoke with AfterBuzzTV (featured below) and said they were pretty surprised by the low scores.

"I had a blast tonight, and I don't understand the scoring compared to what feeling I had inside during the show, 'cause it was so fun and the audience was loving it and they were screaming and we were having a blast," Bennett said.

He said that he understood why the judges were so hard on his technique, though "I didn't think it was 6s, for sure."

Meanwhile, Holker said she was shocked.

"He wanted to go out there and dance for his father and his father wanted im to have fun and let loose and that's why he did tonight. So I'm not gonna lie, I was shocked by the 6s. I was," she admitted.

Despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard by the end of the night, they were still able to stay in the competition due to last week's scores and America's voting. They may be in trouble next week, however, based on the scoring this week.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
