As Spider-Man continues to be in flux with possible re-casting and Avengers crossovers, there is still the business of the Sinister Six movie that Sony announced and what will be happening in it. A new report suggests it could be different than what was initially anticipated.

Is The 'Sinister Six' Setting Up For The Demise Of Spider-Man In His Third Solo Movie?

Bada-- Digest reported on Tuesday that Sony may be having plans to recast Spider-Man with a soft reboot happening during the Sinister Six movie. This includes taking Andrew Garfield and putting a new actor into the role of Spidey for the movie.

But the report also adds what the Sinister Six movie could look like, and it seems like Spider-Man and the villain squad could be teaming up to fight a greater threat, similar to The Dirty Dozen.

'The Equalizer' Star Teases Role In 'Sinister Six'

This method would have Spider-Man dealing with a massive threat and asking the group of super villains, including Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin and Mysterio to help him eradicate the threat in exchange for letting them go free if they make it through. This would be an interesting route to go, as no superhero movie has really teamed up hero and villain outside of Thor and Loki, and would make for something different.

But with the Venom movie now in flux and Sony unsure of what to do with the web-slinger moving forward, the Sinister Six movie becomes even more important to the studio. Their plan could include getting rid of Garfield entirely moving forward.

While there is still nothing definite, it seems like Sony is focused on the Sinister Six, with Spider-Man involved, which could help decide the future of the property with their studio.
