Even though they may be incompetent in a lot of things, the spies of the hit show Archer know when they need to step back and change things, and it will begin with a name.

Archer creator Adam Reed announced at Comic-Con this week that the show would be chaining the name of the spy organization from ISIS after recent events from the same named jihadist Islamic state.

Executive producer Casey Willis told The Guardian on Saturday that while the Islamic State "doesn't exist in our universe ... but now [the characters are] working with the CIA, so that's the banner that we're under now."

Reed continued in an interview with The Daily Beast that it was just an unfortunate similarity and they would completely eradicate it from the show moving forward.

"(It was) just the most awful thing and we didn't want to have anything to do with it. We were waiting for it to go away, at least I was," he said.

"FX said, 'This might be a thing,' and I thought, 'Maybe it won't be? Maybe it'll be the mole that I'm gonna ignore and nothing will happen.' We got sort of lucky and could organically make a merger with the CIA ... and we just don't talk about it in dialogue."

The show, which has run five seasons, has used the acronym as the name of their spy organization, but with this revelation, the studio has decided to take all merchandise from the store associated with the acronym and it will be completely gone from the show when season six starts.

The show is expected to start back up in early 2015.
