Klaus' protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and new vampire Josh (Steven Krueger) didn't have much screen time together during the first season of The Originals, but as new episodes come in on The CW this fall the pair will find themselves in close quarters.

No Romance For Elijah & Gia On 'The Originals'

As the last two vampires hoping to return to the French Quarter, Josh has begun helping Marcel rebuild a vampire community and if all goes well they might just getting their footing as things heat up in New Orleans.

Krueger posted a black and white photo on Twitter Tuesday showing him and Davis bonding in front of a very familiar set.

'The Originals' Gets More Bloody Than Ever With 2nd Season

If this photo is up-to-date, that means Marcel and Josh will be getting back to Klaus' compound much sooner than expected. At the moment the penalty for returning is death, but entry back into the quarter could suggest a shift in power between the vampires, witches, hybrids and werewolves that populate the city.

Monday night's episode was pretty heavy on the Marcel flashbacks and so his reunion with Klaus could lead to some more backstory. While Marcel's childhood with his mentor have been explored, Marcel's early years as a vampire have yet to be seen onscreen.

The Originals continues on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
