Miranda Lambert will be giving a little back this holiday season with the Great American Dog-A-Thon on Fox, which is set to air the night before Thanksgiving.

Miranda Lambert Talks Cooking with Husband Blake Shelton

The Somethin' Bad singer has been an advocate for pet adoption for some time now and even has half a dozen rescue dogs of her own. On Thursday, however, Rolling Stone announced that Lambert would be taking some time away from her fellow country artist husband Blake Shelton for a special event. The singer's taking her passion to the small screen as the MuttNatation Foundation works to find new families for homeless dogs.

The Great American Dog-A-Thon will be hosted by actress Hilary Swank (Boys Don't Cry, Million Dollar Baby) and show off a number of dogs searching for a home, as well as how viewers can go about adopting them. In addition, the program will include musical performances and messages from different celebrities who support the cause.

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert Are Happy Being 'Aunt' & 'Uncle'

"I have long been an advocate fore animal adopting and know first-hand the immense joy a shelter animal brings to our lives," Swank told Rolling Stone. "Yet every year, more than four million animals are euthanized because of overcrowding in shelters."

Other famous pet owners set to appear during the event are Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Betty White, Scarlett Johansson (Lucy), and Fergie.

The Great American Dog-A-Thon airs on Fox Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
