Robin Wright has quite the penchant for maxims, as she demonstrated with a recent message she sent to House of Cards helmer, Beau Willimon.

Claire To Succeed Frank's Legacy After Season 3 Of House of Cards?

Wright, who plays Claire on season 3 of the Netflix political drama, has some hilarious advice about how holding in farts leads to shitty ideas. Willimon loved it so much that he tweeted it for all to read, as the thought for the day:

"Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine, into your brain, and that's where shitty ideas come from."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Wright would be directing again in season 3.

On June 20, the Washington Post captured Willimon's interaction with the New York Times's David Carr at the event, which was held at the Natural History Museum in New York.

While talking about Robin Wright, who plays Claire Underwood on the Netflix series, directing her first episode of the show in season 2, Willimon suggested that they shared a great collaborative spark behind the camera.

"She's a natural. She has been in the business for many years so she knows her way around a set. She has an intuitive understanding of the craft; she has exquisite taste; she has great insight into story," he said. "Her thoughts about scripts, whether it's her character or someone else's, always make the script better. She is a born leader."

Willimon also revealed that Wright directed one of his favorite episodes from that season and that there was a lot of work lined up for her as the episode dealt with a lot of complexity.

"It was late in the season so it's when all the various storylines are really beginning to converge and the heat is ratcheted up and so is the pace. She did so much preparation," he said. "She is a first-time director and anything she didn't know the answer to she wasn't afraid to ask. But most importantly, she had a vision for what that episode would be."

While complimenting her directorial abilities again, Willimon joked about how she only wanted to direct now. "She's a really wonderful director and I can't wait to see her direct more," he said. "She threatens that all she wants to do now is direct instead of act. But I know that she can do both at the same time. That episode was a clear example."
