Castle boss David Amann recently revealed a few new details about the upcoming wedding between Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic).

Amann spoke with TVGuide.com about the wedding, which will take place in the next episode of the series. The show runner admitted that he came close to putting them in another big wedding scenario but ultimately decided against it.

"We came very close to doing the other version of the big wedding... and all the hoopla that's associated with that, and we knew that we didn't want to do quite the same thing," Amann said.

He added that Beckett is unsure of Castle's motivations in the beginning, though, "she's emotionally right there with him. It's a wonderful, wonderful moment, and we hope the fans share that view."

Amann has previously confirmed that while the next episode of Castle takes place in an alternate timeline, Castle and Beckett still get married for real.

"[The ceremony] isn't going to be like their last wedding," Amman said in a recent Entertainment Weekly report. "It comes together in a slightly more hasty fashion. But that being said, it's incredibly romantic and moving, and I think the fans are really going to feel like it's the culmination of 6-plus seasons of this relationship."

Fans will likely be much happier this go round considering their first attempt at a wedding resulted in Castle getting into a fiery car wreck.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
