The next episode of Fox's Bones features the continued storyline of new agent Aubrey (John Boyd), this time focusing on his dark past.

'Bones' Season 11 Talk Already Starting As Actors 'Renegotiate'

A new clip for the episode was posted by TVLine Tuesday, featuring Boyd, David Boreanaz (Booth) and Emily Deschanel (Brennan) discussing the Aubrey storyline interspersed with scenes from the episode. In Thursday's episode, Booth learns some juicy information about Aubrey's past.

"I read your file," Booth tells Aubrey in one scene. "I know what happened to you."

"The dynamic between Booth and Aubrey is sort of big brother-younger brother," Boyd explains. "When my character first shows up [Booth is] kind of in a pretty dark place and definitely doesn't wanna let me in."

Deschanel notes that "it's a dark few episodes" at this point in the season.

"We kind of see a new side of Booth, looking after him," Boyd adds. "and we get to see sort of a fire in him."

One intriguing clip from the episode features Aubrey questioning whether or not he's a good agent, looking like he is about to cry, with Booth assuring him that he is indeed good at his job.

As noted in the Fox synopsis for this episode, Aubrey finds himself having a personal connection to the case, which involves human remains being found under a merry-go-round.

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
