Outside of the many fights that will be happening in the next Thor movie, it seems like the largest one will be between a new fiery villain and the God of Thunder. But who is this Surtur and how will he make his way to Asgard for Ragnarok?

According to HeyUGuys on Tuesday, he could be the main villain for Thor: Ragnarok, which will also include Loki and the end of Asgard.

According to the site, in both the comic books and Norse mythology, this fiery villain plays a key role in Ragnarok and is the ideal foe to potentially bring Asgard to an end. As the Lord of Muspelheim and King of the Fire Giants, Surtur is a demon of gigantic proportions and one of the greatest threats to Asgard.

The villain wields the Twilight Sword and has been hinted at previously in comments made by both Chris Hemsworth and Marvel head Kevin Feige based on his comic book popularity and the fact that he could bring the most destruction for this end of times that the movie is being pegged as.

Surtur will be coming after the people that Thor cares most about and the fact that screenwriter Christopher Yost recently teased a lot of death in the next movie moves to the point that this villain will be rocking Thor to his core and taking out people that he holds dear.

With a lot of problems being teased for Thor both in this movie and during Avengers: Age of Ultron, it seems like this character is about to go through some tremendous growth and at the head of it could be Surtur.
