The death of Gwen Stacy is weighing on Peter Parker as the end of the last Spider-Man movie comes to a close, but with the possible introduction of Mary Jane Watson in the next installment, could there be a big choice facing Peter?

Emma Stone Could Come Back For 'Amazing Spider-Man 3' Based On This Evidence

While the whole clone possibility has been thrown around, could it really happen? Evidence has pointed in that direction from some of the people responsible for the franchise, but what about Mary Jane, who was supposed to be introduced in the last one but was cut at the last minute?

The likely scenario would be that after an appearance in Sinister Six, Spider-Man returns for his third standalone movie in the new series with the sense that he has finally moved past the events that led to Gwen's death and he can move on. This includes meeting Mary Jane Watson and starting a relationship with her.

Spider-Man To Get A More Small-Town Focused Story?

While this is happening, Miles Warren, who was infatuated with Gwen, is still stewing over her death and Spider-Man's role in it. Warren researches cloning and finds a way to clone both Gwen and Peter Parker (or Spider-Man) while Warren becomes The Jackal.

This wouldn't necessarily have to be the main focus of the film, but Peter having to come to terms with the fact that Gwen is back and alive (in the form of a clone) and he is now in love with Mary Jane would be an interesting route to go.

Director Marc Webb has created fantastic chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone and adding someone (maybe Shailene Woodley) to play Mary Jane also would create a new dynamic to the romance.
