ABC has released a plot synopsis for an upcoming December episode of Castle, which is bound to be a fun one.

'Castle' Season 7: Esposito Considers 'Importance' Of Lanie Amid Dangerous Hostage Situation

The network released the synopsis for Last Action Hero, the ninth episode in the current season of Castle. The episode will center around the death of a famous action star from the '80s.

"When the star of Castle's [Nathan Fillion] favorite '80's action movie is mysteriously murdered, Castle and Beckett [Stana Katic] delve into the victim's secret past and pursue his killer with help from a team of aging action heroes," the synopsis reads.

The special guest stars in this episode are Krista Allen and Ted McGinley as Naomi Duvray and Brock Harmon respectively.

The episode is slated to air on Monday, Dec. 1.

Before this episode, however, is a considerably more dramatic one. The next episode of Castle is titled Kill Switch and centers on Esposito (Jon Heurtas) getting involved in a hostage situation. Katic spoke with TVLine recently about this being her favorite upcoming episode.

"Well, I like the Espo one because I like the fact that one of my coworkers gets to shine like that, because those guys are super-talented, Jon and Seamus [Dever]," she said. "All of the cast is incredible, but those guys, when they get a chance to kind of get down and dirty, they love it, and they're so creative."

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
