One year after the One Direction star's fake proposal to Perry, the pair crossed paths on the red carpet, where they allegedly exchanged some flirty banter and a warm embrace.

"When Katy spotted Niall on the red carpet at the ARIAs she couldn’t contain herself from rushing over and interrupting an interview in order to cuddle him!" Take 40 reported of the sighting. "They also shared a few secret words with each other – but unfortunately the roar of the crowd covered any sweet nothings that may have been uttered."

In the past few months, since splitting from John Mayer earlier this year, Perry has been linked to a handful of celebrities, including rapper Riff Raff, DJ Diplo and Jared Leto. Horan has reportedly been involved in a few high-profile relationships, as well. Among his most notable alleged hookups are Barbara Palvin, who has also been linked to Justin Bieber, Ellie Goulding and Selena Gomez.

According to a second report, by Hollywood Life, Perry and Horan have been flirting for years.

"The pair had a date night at the Soho House in New York City in December 2013," the site reported. "Niall also took to his Instagram to upload a picture of the two snuggling together in Tokyo. And moments later, he posted another picture of him planting a huge kiss on the pop princess’ cheek."
