With the DC universe starting to come together, yesterday the news broke that a number of A-list stars would be signing on to become apart of the bad guy team that is forming with director David Ayer.

Jared Leto Is Sworn To Secrecy Concerning His Involvement As This Iconic DC Villain

Variety confirmed on Tuesday that the follow-up DC film to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, would feature the likes of Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie.

The cast was confirmed with Smith coming on to play Batman villain Deadshot who also works as the group's leader. Hardy is Rick Flagg (marking his second time playing a DC villain), Jai Courtney of Divergent and upcoming Terminator fame will be Boomerang, Supermodel Cara Delevingne will be Enchantress, with Robbie as Harley Quinn and Leto as The Joker.

Jim Carrey Almost Played This DC Villain Before, Could He Try To Do It Again?

They added that while there were rumors of Jesse Eisenberg coming on as Lex Luthor, the actor is not confirmed to be a part of the movie, but that doesn't rule out a cameo.

The film still has one big role to fill and that's the head honcho (or Nick Fury equivalent in this universe) Amanda Waller. The role is currently being shopped to Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis and even Oprah Winfrey. The site adds that Winfrey is the top choice, but there is no indication if she would consider the role.

Badass Digest adds that while Leto will first appear as The Joker in that film, there will be a mention of the famed villain by Superman during the first movie in the universe, Batman v Superman.

According to the site, in the world of Batman v Superman, the Joker already exists, and Superman knows about him. We don't see him in this movie, though.
