Even though plans for a sequel are shaky right now, the new Frozen short that will allow fans to return to Arendelle is expected to premiere before another Disney princess movie next year.

Not So Fast! Idina Menzel Backtracks On Her 'Frozen 2' Comments

Disney announced on Wednesday that their upcoming short film, Frozen Fever, would premiere before director Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella, which comes out March 13, 2015. The story will reunite Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven in a whole new adventure.

In Frozen Fever, it's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.

Idina Menzel Says 'Frozen 2' Could Be Coming A Lot Sooner Than We Thought

The short is bringing back the entire cast and crew with Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck returning to direct and Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez coming back to bring us an all-new original song for the short.

The short film is also expected to have the entire vocal cast back, including Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel.

This marks the first return to the animated hit by Disney since the film's release last year, while Menzel had teased last week that a sequel was on the way, the actress had to backtrack those comments as she said they were made more with wishful thinking and the assumption that due to the box office return that they would look to return to the film.

Instead, it seems like Disney is happier with making short films and using the movie's merchandise to keep sequel talks away as the company makes more on toys than anything else on Earth (pretty much, just ask Barbie).

Cinderella stars Lily James as the titular character with Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Stellan Skarsgård, Derek Jacobi, Nonso Anozie, Holliday Grainger, Richard Madden and Sophie McShera rounding out the rest of the cast.
