In a newly-released promo for The Simpsons holiday episode, the characters make obvious references to the movie Frozen.

Time reported on Friday that The Simpsons holiday show video was released and it feaures Springfield covered in mountains of snow.

Ahead of "I Won't Be Home for Christmas," Fox has released the episode's holiday-themed Christmas opening, with the couch gag devoted to an extended Frozen riff.

Lisa is the character that plays Elsa, but she doesn't sing "Let It Go" at all. Homer puts a less cheerful but hilarious spin on Olaf the Snowman.

Gifts are boxed and wrapped an the kids take part in jazz band as Homer is hit with a candy cane. There are also sleds pulled by some very unique choices of animals.

Before the actual Frozen reference, viewers see the message, in big and bold font, "Now for the oligatory Frozen reference."

Some fans commented on the Youtube video that they were disappointed Lisa didn't sing "Let It Go" saying that it would have made this video "the best."

Another fan expressed their frustration by saying: "I know I'm going to sound like a nitpicky fanboy or something like that but: Frozen is NOT a Christmas movie!!"

Several fans were disappointed with the appearance of Frozen in The Simpsons, but the majority seemed to thoroughly enjoy the preview.
