Agents of SHIELD may get a visit from a certain hawkeyed archer.

'Avengers 2': 'Something Terrible' Coming For Hulk, Joss Whedon Teases Mark Ruffalo Plot

Clint Barton could become the first Avenger to drop by the ABC series. While Robert Downey Jr. recently voiced a desire to see Tony Stark guest star, a new photo from Clark Gregg (Coulson) indicates that Hawkeye may soon collaborate with SHIELD.

The uncaptioned photo comes from November's Secret Avengers #10, according to Cinema Blend, and shows the archer and the SHIELD director in a tense stand off. Bow drawn and arrow nocked, Hawkeye stands opposite a gun-wielding, rain-soaked Coulson.

It is unknown if this is a harbinger to come or if Gregg is simply a fan of the image. However, executive producers Jed and Joss Whedon previously hinted that two highly trained SHIELD agents from The Avengers will help Coulson's team during season 2, according to Den of Geek. Although the Whedon bros. didn't specify whether or not these agents will also be Avengers, there is the possibility that they were referring to Hawkeye and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).
