With as busy as Carrie Underwood's been this month, the country star managed to make it home for the holidays this week.

Carrie Underwood Dishes On 'Unexpected' Collaborations

Underwood's latest album, Greatest Hits: Decade #1, came out earlier this month, but on Tuesday the Something In The Water singer arrived home to spend some quality time with her mother for Christmas.

The country star also got some cuddle time in with a few furry friends, insisting she was in "heaven" as she snuggled up with some adorable pups.

It looks like Underwood is nurturing her motherly instincts and at a great time too. Back in September she and husband Mike Fisher, who plays in the NHL for the Nashville Predators, announced that they are expecting their first child together. Underwood will give birth to their baby boy this spring, though the couple is keeping the exact due date a secret for the time being.

Underwood allowed fellow country star Brad Paisley to let the gender of the baby slip during the live airing of the CMA Awards on Nov. 5. While the "slip" was meant to look unintentional, Paisley almost certainly had his co-hosts blessing prior to the broadcast.

Greatest Hits: Decade #1 was released on Dec. 9.
