Concerns arose after the midseason finale of Chicago PD that Lindsay would be leaving the show, but new spoilers reveal that's not exactly true.

'Chicago PD' To Return With Season 3 Premiere In Early January

Carter Matt reported on Friday that Lindsay will continue to have a part in Chicago PD's story, but her character will actually have to leave the firce to be a part of the task force, so she will need to be able to adjust to this change.

She will reportedly stick with the department in the premiere on January 7, but will have to depart by the next time the show airs. The title for this episode is, "We Don't Work Together Anymore."

Actress Sophia Bush Is Vague On Twitter About The Return Of Her Character On 'Chicago PD'

The synopsis for this episode reads: "Lindsay (Sophia Bush) has her first case with the task force and realizes she needs to call on Voight (Jason Beghe) and the Intelligence unit to assist. Meanwhile Burgess (Marina Squerciati) is back on the job, but relegated to desk duty which allows Desk Sgt. Platt (Amy Morton) the opportunity to partner up with Roman (Brian Geraghty)."

It's clear that the shooting from a previous episode isn't going to leave Burgess out for very long, even though it appears she won't be out in the field at first.

The news that Lindsay will indeed be staying on the show comes at a good time as viewers were begging for answers on Twitter to whether she will return.

Chicago PD airs on January 9, 2015 on NBC.
