It looks like Colin Farrell will be sporting a longer, grayer 'do for the second season of HBO's True Detective.

Find Out If 'True Detective' Is Built To Last

The series is currently filming in California and on Tuesday The Mirror released photos of the star grabbing a coffee in Los Angeles. Dressed in a black coat and shirt, the actor's long hair was combed to the side and he was sporting a rather defined mustache which curled down at the sides. The actor looked a bit worn out, which could be the result of long days or nights filming.

The look most likely has something to do with his new gig. The 38-year-old actor will be playing Detective Ray Velcoro for the second season of True Detective in 2015. The morally ambigious detective will struggle with his loyalties, which are decided between his job and a commitment to the mob.

New Storyline Could Hurt 'True Detective'

In addition to Farrell, this season's cast includes Vince Vaughn (career criminal Frank Semyon), Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides), and Taylor Kitsch (Officer Paul Woodrugh). The story will surround the events following the murder of a city manager in California.

Series creator Nic Pizzolatto will be writing all of the episodes with a handful of different directors stepping in throughout the season to replace season 1's Emmy-winning Cary Fukunaga. It is believed that Justin Lin, known for his work with the Fast and the Furious franchise, will be the first director to helm this upcoming episodes.

True Detective returns on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
