The Loyal singer was supposed to ring in 2015 in the Philippines and just hours before he was meant to be on stage he took to Twitter to reveal he wouldn't be there.

He even tweeted about the Philippine Arena being one of the "best arenas in the world!"

He also let fans from the Philippines know he'd be back in the spring.

Yahoo! News reported on New Year's Eve that Brown's local representatives told the organizers, Maligaya Development Corp., "Chris Brown lost his passport the day before the scheduled event."

Hollywood Life, however, reported on Friday a completely different tale as to why the singer canned his appearance at the big New Year's Eve show.

A source revealed to the site that Brown just wanted to remain by Tran's side since they just patched things up.

"No disrespect to his fans out there, but once he and Karrueche got back together over Christmas, Chris knew he wasn't going to be able to make that venue," the source stated.

The source further revealed Tran wanted and understood Brown needed to go out of obligation, but the singer "flat out" refused.

"Some things mean more to me than money and my career and that's you. I want to bring in my New Year with you and that's what the f--- I'm going to do," the source said Brown told Tran.
