Dancing With the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy recently addressed rumors that his "falling in love" with his partners are just a ploy for votes.

'Dancing With the Stars' Pro Mark Ballas Not Able To Reveal If He's Returning For Season 20?

Chmerkovskiy faced rumors of being in a relationship with season 19 partner Janel Parrish in fall 2014. With this being a main storyline for the season, fans continue to wonder if this was an act for the show rather than anything genuine.

Season 19 winner Alfonso Ribeiro is on tour with the Dancing With the Stars Live! Tour alongside Chmerkovskiy, where he asked him this very question.

"Clearly, you guys have relationships at times with your partners. Val, it's a thing in your family, at least it seems that way, it seems that way from the outside that, you know, that - so is it an act, is it real, do you fall in love with your partner?" he asked on the tour, as seen in the video below.

Chmerkovskiy observed that he is a "passionate dude" who falls in love pretty frequently, though he fiercely denied that he uses his passion in order to get votes from the audience.

"The last thing I would do for votes, ladies and gentlemen, is play with my partner's emotions, or with your emotions," Chmerkovskiy said, addressing the crowd. "The votes are important to me - the craft is more important, the art is more important, the performance is more important. Your presence here is most important. Your vote is not that important to me, to be honest. So keep your vote for those that genuinely love their partners and save your vote for the performances that you like."

Dancing With the Stars returns for its 20th season on Monday, March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
