American Idol has launched the career of many top-caliber performers over the last 13 seasons, including country superstar Carrie Underwood.

While Underwood is not the only star the emerge from the reality competition, she has garnered the biggest spotlight. Underwood latest's album, Greatest Hits: Decade #1, debuted on Billboard's Top Country Albums at no. 1. It was her fifth straight album to do so.

Underwood has six Grammy wins, over 64 million records sold, as well as 18 no. 1 singles. She's worked with the likes of Steven Tyler, Beyonce and Rihanna. Most recently she scored a cameo on ABC's Nashville.

With this kind of success, is Underwood just the biggest thing to come out of American idol? Or is she the biggest thing to come out of reality television as a whole? On Sunday USA Today questioned whether or not American idol will ever find another big star, but Underwood set the bar pretty high. It's possible that no matter how hard to show tries, the magic created by her win was a unique one-time deal, along with original winner Kelly Clarkson.

In September Underwood and husband Mike Fisher, who plays in the NHL for the Nashville Predators, announced that they are expecting their first child together. Underwood is due to give birth this spring.

Underwood's latest album, Greatest Hits: Decade #1, was released on Dec. 9, 2014. She is currently working on new material, which could be released later this year.
