With many pros appearing on the Dancing With the Stars Live! Tour, they were asked which pro is the most competitive of the bunch. Most of them named Ballas and Chmerkovskiy, though the latter was quick to defend himself.

"There's a difference between being competitive and having a certain pressure based on the talent that you are given in your partner," Chmerkovskiy explained. "I feel like, when you're given someone like Alfonso [Ribeiro], you're bound to be competitive because you want to do the best with someone as talented as Alfonso."

However, he did admit that he was indeed very competitive, but clarified that it was due to his passion.

"Proudly I am," he said. "I'm very competitive. I'm very passionate about my partner. I'm very passionate about the journey. I want her to walk away from the season thinking that she had the best partner and she had the best experience. So I'm very, very competitive when it comes to that."

Chmerkovskiy did admit after the results of last season that he was "disappointed." He and his celebrity partner Janel Parrish came in third place this fall, with Ballas and Sadie Robertson coming in second and Witney Carson and Ribeiro winning the Mirrorball Trophy.

Dancing With the Stars season 20 premieres Monday, March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
