New Girl's Max Greenfield is adamant about winning the role of Christian Grey in the future movie adaptation of the E.L. James racy read "Fifty Shades of Grey."

The 31-year-old had even spoken out on Aug. 27th regarding his heightened interest in the kinky character, according to Celebuzz.

"Look, when I read the book, I thought, 'What a comedy!' I think maybe I can bring a little validity to the situation.  Sometimes, you try to figure out life and what it all means," he explained.

"Maybe I only got this New Girl job so that I would be enough of a commodity to get the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey.  I'd probably retire after I did that because I think my performance would be just spot-on," Greenfield continued.

Not only does the television star want the role of the S & M crazed billionaire for himself, but he has even thought up an Anastasia Steele to potentially play alongside him; Girls' Lena Dunham, according to the site.

"She's fantastic. What if Judd [Apatow] and I collaborated and turned Fifty Shades of Grey into a movie together? That's what I'd like to do. Me, Lena [Dunham} and Judd. It's a done deal. I'm calling whoever owns the rights and making this happen," he stated.

Greenfield can be seen on Fox's "New Girl" playing the role of Schmidt alongside Zoey Deschanel. The actor had been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for season 1.

The 2nd season of the sitcom will be debuting Sept. 25th at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
