Ethan Chandler might be in possession of an important package this season on Showtime's Penny Dreadful.

Ethan Chandler Keeping Audiences 'On Edge' On 'Penny Dreadful' 

Photos from the set were released by the Daily Mail on Wednesday showed Ethan (Josh Hartnett) walked through London with a paper-wrapped package in hand.

The actor remained focus in between takes, though he did manage to crack a smile as he walked across the set. Production takes place in Dublin, though the street was designed to look like London as that is where the show takes places.

Though it looked like Hartnett had been doing some filming out in the forest recently, Ethan's return to London could be significant for the season's conclusion.

A pretty secretive figure during season 1, Ethan's origins will be expanded upon as the Victorian supernatural drama continues this year. Now that it's been revealed that Ethan is a werewolf, there are plenty of questions creator John Logan would have to answer about how he got that way and exactly how much he knows about his own abilities.

Ethan's greatest ally on the series will continue to be Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), who has struggled at length with demonic possession. Ethan seems to be a calming presence for Vanessa, while she in turn provides wise council and support for him.

Penny Dreadful will return on Showtime for a second season on April 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
