The latest photos from the set of HBO's True Detective show that Rachel McAdams will certainly see some action this season.

'True Detective' Still Waiting For Three Directors In 2015 

Production for the crime drama's second installment is currently underway in Los Angeles and on Tuesday Coming Soon revealed some all new images from the show's latest scene.

In the photos, McAdams could be seen preparing for her role as Detective Ani Bezzerides. Wearing a dark hat and sunglasses, the actress practiced the handling of a gun in what looked like the pursuit of a suspect along a Los Angeles street. One photo even showed McAdams taking cover, as well as returning fire at her opponent.  

Colin Farrell Unlikely To Surprise On 'True Detective' 

McAdams wasn't the only one on set that afternoon. The actress was joined by costars Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch. Farrell will be playing the morally conflicted Detective Ray Velcoro, while Kitsch has signed on as Officer Paul Woodrugh.

Both Farrell and Kitsch seemed to be involved in the scene, rehearsing with their own firearms and ducking for cover behind a bus. Farrell was sporting his new mustache for the role. Both he and Kitsch were also wearing sunglasses.

It is uncertain who the stars will be facing off against in this scene, whether it be each other or a criminal they are chasing. The new season is set to follow the murder of a corrupt city manager in California. Vince Vaughn will be playing career criminal Frank Semyon alongside Farrell, McAdams, and Kitsch.

True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
