True Detective star Colin Farrell filled some of his free time in Los Angeles with a trip to the yoga studio this week.

HBO Might Be Making Big Changes To The 2nd Season Of 'True Detective'

According to the Daily Mail on Wednesday, the actor was seen leaving a yoga class shirtless in a pair of black sweatpants. Farrell's hair remained long and straggly, with that new mustache of his still full as ever.

Sweating and a little red in the face and shoulders, the actor ignored the cameras as he headed out for the day.

Vince Vaughn Dishes On 'Rich' New Season of 'True Detective'

Farrell has been under a microscope ever since he was cast as the compromised Detective Ray Velcoro for the second season of True Detective. Velcoro is a man torn between his loyalties to the criminals who own him and the force which he serves, which will make for some interesting conflict this spring.

While the hair and the mustache are both for his HBO gig, the yoga itself is all Farrell. There's no method acting there. Apparently the actor has become a big fan of yoga over the last few years, claiming that "it's really physically and it's really strenuous."

"It allows me to do two things simulataneously," explained the actor. "It puts me into my body and out of my mind."

Farrell will be starring alongside Vince Vaughn (career criminal Frank Semyon), Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides), and Taylor Kitsch (Officer Paul Woodrugh) on True Detective this season. The crime drama's new installment is set to follow the murder of a corrupt city manager in California.

True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
