Movie star Jennifer Garner is following up on one of her recent quotes as she went on a walk with her nine-year-old daughter.

In a previous interview with Southern Living, Garner had mentioned that she wanted her kids to be able "to stop and smell the roses." As it turns out, her daughter Violet is (more or less) following that rule based on released photos of the family.

On Wednesday, Daily Mail posted photos of Garner and Violet as they went for a walk in Santa Monica. The two can be seen walking through a bush of flowers growing for the spring weather. There may not have been any roses around, but it appears that Violet is still taking time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds her.

Garner is seen wearing a grey and purple striped cardigan with jeans as she held her child's hand. Violet donned a fancy yellow dress that looked pretty fitting for the new season.

Garner is married to Oscar winner Ben Affleck. They have two other children together, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3

When the actress spoke to Southern Living for the March 2015 issue, she had mentioned that she wanted her kids to have the same ethics she had while growing up.

"It's really important for my kids to see that everyone doesn't have the lives they see in Los Angeles," she said. "That doesn't reflect the rest of the world. I want them to grow up with the Southern values I had- to look at people when they say hello and to stop and smell the roses. If I could do half as good a job as my mom did, I'd be pretty happy."
