Is A Major 'Star Wars' Character Getting His Own Spinoff Film?

On Thursday, Wired announced that Star Wars: Episode VIII will be coming to theaters on May 26, 2017. This is different from the seventh film, which comes out in December, but perhaps this might be a good position for 2017 as summer gradually begins.

The eighth film will be directed by Looper writer Rian Johnson while Lost creator J.J. Abrams directed Episode VII.

Hints About 'Episode VII' Will Be Released In Books?

For all the fans who are super anxious on what's going to happen in the movie this December, it appears that there will be some clues released on what the film will contain. This fall, approximately 20 books are going to be released that will unveil some hints about the film according to Entertainment Weekly.

"The partnership with the story group and the editorial team always had to be true to the sanctity of the film while making sure that we find these moments to introduce hints, clues and puzzle pieces," Andrew Sugarman, vice president of Disney Publishing Worldwide, said. "Without revealing what those pieces are, it will just allow readers to speculate about the new film: What could a location mean, or what could a character mean?"

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18.
