Drew Barrymore gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday, People magazine confirmed today.

"We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born Sept. 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family," the couple said in a statement. "Thank you for respecting our privacy during this most special time in our lives."

Barrymore, 37 married Will Kopelman in June at her Montecito, California home. He is an art consultant and this is their first child for both.

In an August interview with Haute Living, Barrymore talked about expecting and the excitement it has brought her.

"I can't wait until I have my children. I love the idea that they have no interest in, that they can do something completely opposite if they want to. I will be so surprised if they don't want to do something involving food or wine or art, but I'll be OK with it. I just want to build fun, great things for my family."
