Olympic medalist and swimmer Missy Franklin was at the 33rd Annual Salute for Women in Sports event on Wednesday night, Oct. 17, in New York City, however, the athlete has much more to focus on than her swimming achievements: she just finished filming a movie and a guest appearance on a hit television show.

She mentioned her guest appearance on "Pretty Little Liars" on her Twitter page and when Enstarz asked her about it at the event on Wedneday night at Cipriani Wall Street, she said she was very excited. Although she could not reveal details about her role ("I don't know if I can say," she said) she did mention that the episode will air next year.

Stunning in a blue knee-length dress and drop earrings, a very different look from the swimsuits and sporting gear she was primarily caught in recently, due to the summer 2012 Olympics, Franklin attended the event made to promote the importance of physical activity and honor female athletes. Other athletes that attended the event include Jordyn Wieber (also in a blue knee-length dress), Katie Holloway, Alex Morgan and Carli Lloyd. Team USA gymnast Gabby Douglas won one of the highest honors of the night: the Sportswoman of the Year award for an individual athlete.

Franklin won four gold medals this summer in the 2012 Olympic Games. Other than a television cameo, her post-London days also include a role in the new Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson comedy "The Internship." Although she would not reveal any details about her role, where she plays herself, she did tell reporters at the Wednesday event that it was hard to keep a straight face among the two actors.

"They are the funniest people I ever met in my life," she said.

However, though Franklin admitted that acting is fun, she did state that she is trying to focus on school and settle on a college to attend next year, in which she hopes to study marine biology. She said she already visited the University of California-Berkley, Georgia and Texas, and is trying to lock down a decision before Nov. 14, the signing day in her high school.
