Bethesda Software has officially announced the arrival of Fallout 4 alongside a trailer with real, in-game footage.

Valve Is Now Offering Limited Refunds On Recent Steam Game Purchases

The next entry in the post-apocalyptic series will be coming only to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Rumors speculated this announcement would come later this month at E3, but Bethesda hinted at their plan to reveal the game today with yesterday's countdown timer site.

Watch the new trailer below, which is longer and more detailed than you may expect. Games often debut with only a teaser or a short CGI clip, but Bethesda has released a decent amount of in-engine gameplay footage. The game is set in Boston, and looks to be hitting on many of the same notes as Fallout 3. There's an obligatory "War Never Changes" line in the narration, glimpses of Pipboys, vaults and even a prominent dog companion.

"We know what this game means to everyone," said Game Director, Todd Howard, "The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever."

Visually, the game looks great, with impressive textures and lighting in what wll presumably be a pretty large open world. There seems to be more color and vibrancy this time around, perhaps in an attempt to address the dreary color palette of Fallout 3. It is a nuclear wasteland, though, so what can you really expect?

Pre-order your copy now, but, as always, it may be wiser to wait and find out more about the game. Fallout 4 will be further revealed on June 14 during Bethesda's showcase at E3.
