Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, the narrative-driven puzzle game from 2013, is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this summer.

Publisher 505 Games announced the news in a press release today, also revealing that Brothers is set for launch on iOS, Android, and Windows mobile devices this holiday season. Developed by Starbreeze Studios and directed by filmmaker Josef Fares, Brothers tells an emotionally charged story of two siblings setting out to save their father from the edge of death. He is suffering from a terminal illness, and only a far-off elixir can save him.

Brothers uses a unique control system that requires using the strengths of each character to progress in each level. This reflects the narrative in which they need each other's support for this journey, and you'll learn to master this system as the adventure continues through a variety of environments.

Specifically, each brother is mapped to one of the controller's two thumbsticks and two trigger buttons--this takes some getting used to and provides a constant challenge through the puzzles. The older brother is stronger, which allows him to pull levers and lift his sibling up to ledges. The younger brother is small, allowing him to pass between narrow spaces.

It will be interesting to see how this makes the transition to mobile devices without control sticks and triggers. The console versions, meanwhile, will come with Director's Commentary, Soundtrack and a Concept Art Gallery. Stay tuned for footage and more information as release draws closer.
