As promised, Nintendo today delivered a special Super Smash Bros. video announcing new content for the fighting title.

Steam Summer Sale's Third Day Of Deals Is Now Live

Fire Emblem's Roy and Street Fighter's Ryu will be coming to the game as downloadable characters, available for purchase right now. Nintendo also announced that every character in the game will eventually have their own amiibo figure, and Roy and Ryu's are on the way.

Like the other DLC characters Mewtwo and Lucas, Roy will cost $3.99 on one system or $4.99 to get him on both Wii U and 3DS. Ryu, however, is packaged with his own new stage and thus will cost a bit more. You can purchase Ryu and Suzaku Castle Stage for $5.99 on one system or $6.99 on both platforms. There is no option to purchase Ryu separately from the stage at this time.

Nintendo also announced that every fighter in Super Smash Bros. will eventually have their own amiibo figure, and Roy and Ryu's are on the way. The two characters were not the only new DLC announced, either: more Miiverse costumes and Miiverse levels are available, as is the Kirby Dreamland stage from Nintendo 64. A new elimination tournament mode is on the way an August, and a Wii U exclusive feature will allow direct replay uploads to YouTube. Check Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. DLC page for details on all the available content, and watch the announcement video below.
