What lies ahead in the romance between Will and Kevin on Nashville?

'Nashville' Writers Are 'Back In Action'

According to Tuesday's report from TV Line, Kyle Dean Massey (Kevin) is not being planned as a series regular. However though, the site did post a Cafe Press link with a shirt that supports the Kevin-Will relationship so perhaps plans could change.

Meanwhile, Chris Carmack (Will) previously spoke to Rolling Stone on his character's future; ever since Will publicly came out of the closet, there will be some challenging times ahead.

Teddy Will Reportedly Not Be A Series Regular Anymore On 'Nashville'

"It's all gumdrops and unicorns from here on out, right? Living in a fairytale land in the clouds. Uh, no," Carmack said. "I think being out is something that was very important for Will to do because it was important for him as an individual. He has removed a roadblock from his own life and his own pursuit of happiness."

The actor then explained why his character announcing his homosexuality has created a more positive atmosphere especially after keeping it inside for so long.

"Being out publicly was the right choice in terms of his own ability to live with himself and pursue a meaningful life," he said. "He had lied for so long. It's one thing to not tell the whole truth to the world. That's somebody's own decision; they can do whatever they want. But he had lied and it had eaten him up. He needed to change that."

Nashville Season 4 premieres on Wednesday, September 23 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
