Lucimarian Roberts, the 88-year-old mother of "Good Morning America" co-anchor Robin Roberts, died on Aug. 30 in her native Mississippi. Robin Roberts, who is taking an extended medical leave to prepare for an upcoming bone Marrow transplant, left "GMA" one day earlier than expected (Aug. 30), so she could travel "home to Mississippi just in time to see her," ABC said, according to RadarOnline.

Evelyn Lozada Interview, First Post-Split, With 'Good Morning America'

Evelyn Lozada is ready to share with the world about her incident with husband Chad Johnson on "Good Morning America." Lozada reportedly was ready to have the intimate discussion with Robin Roberts this week because she feels that the morning show news anchor has "tremendous integrity," but it has been rescheduled due to Roberts' scheduled leave of absence. Unfortunately due to Roberts' illness-she was recently diagnosed with MDS, the morning show co-host could not sit down with the reality star because it conflicted with scheduled medical appointments to treat her blood disorder. Acording to the report, Amy Robach will sit in for Roberts and Lozada has already approved of the replacement.

Robin Roberts Announces Medical Leave On "GMA" (VIDEO)

Robin Roberts announced on Monday, Aug. 27 during a live telecast on "Good Morning America" that Friday, Aug, 31 will be her last day on air. Roberts, 51, made the announcement about her upcoming medical leave while sitting alongside her co-anchor George Stephanopolous. She will check into a hospital next Tuesday, Sept.4 to "begin the process." The process she is referring to is undergoing a bone marrow transplant. Roberts was diagnosed with blood and bone marrow disease myelodysplastic syndrome, also known as "MDS". Her donor is her sister, who is also a news anchor who turned out to be a "perfect match," said Roberts.
