She's left the world that catapulted her to fame behind, and now, Cara Delevingne has some harsh words for the modeling industry.

Are Kate Moss & Cara Delevingne Feuding?

In a new interview with London's The Times Newspaper, the former model turned actress talked about how being involved with the industry took a major toll on her both physically and emotionally after awhile --and how that helped propel her decision to leave it all behind as she continued pursuing her dream of being an actress.

"I was like, fight and flight for months. Just constantly on edge," she said. "It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse."

She also went on to say how the stress of her lifestyle caused her to develop psoriasis, which would be covered by large amounts of foundation -- and said that it was what helped thoroughly make her decision to leave it all behind.

"I am not doing fashion work anymore, after having, like, psoriasis and all that stuff," she said. "Modeling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn't make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was...I felt so old."

She also opened up about how she felt like she needed to leave as well because of the overtly sexual nature that the industry opens up young girls to -- including some of the poses she was forced to do at a young age.

"I am a bit of a feminist and it makes me feel sick. It's horrible and it's disgusting...[These are] young girls. You start when you are really young and you do, you get subjected to...not great stuff."
