His name was dragged into the nasty rumors surrounding Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's divorce, but now, Chris Young is speaking out about the reports he had hooked up with Lambert while she was still married.

The singer opened up to Entertainment Tonight about the rumors that came out one day after the couple announced their divorce back in July, saying that he spent a lot of time trying to make sure Shelton, whom he considered a friend, knew there was no truth to the reports and that they were just rumors.

"I was in touch with Blake all day that day," he said. "He was like, 'Dude, Sorry.' I was like, 'I know man.'"

"Man it sucks that I got put in this situation with two people who are my friends," he also said. "It's just so weird getting pulled into something like that where it just wasn't true."

Thankfully for him though, the rumors didn't affect his relationship or friendship with either Shelton or Lambert, both of whom he says he still has contact with, and he also admits that there's no hard feeling between anyone in the trio-including the no longer married stars.

"I have not seen them, [but] I've definitely texted and called both of them," he said. "They're both good since [the last] time I've heard from them. As good as you can be...They're both really great friends still, so it's just one of those things. That's kind of a byproduct of doing this and being in the spotlight I guess."
