Friday the 13th is mostly considered a day of bad luck and one of the reasons relies on the theory that the number 13 is an unlucky number, according to superstitions.

In numerology, the number 12 symbolizes completeness (12 months of the year, 12 disciples of Jesus) whereas the number 13 transgresses this completeness and becomes irregular.

The fear of the #13 is known as "triskaidekaphobia."

Suprestition also holds that Friday is a day of bad luck and the fear of Friday the 13th is called Friggatriskaidekaphobia.

But many others believe it is of good luck, for example, the site cafeastrology.com says that based on what is happening in the sky, January Friday the 13th, 2012 ranked the highest for Romance & Sexuality and Business Success.

And even celebrities are talking about staying positive this day on Twitter.

"Boooooo! Its friday the 13th have a great day make it the best day of your week," Tweeted American model Angie Harmon.

"Happy Friday the 13th! Have a great day everyone," Tweeted Mario Lopez.
