Recent reports of Fast and Furious 8 not being able to snag a director to helm the film have led to worries about the movie not being completed on time.

Wish List Of New Stars Joining Fast and Furious 8

Although the release date -- April 17, 2017 -- for the movie has already been announced, if a director is not brought on board soon enough there might be announcement of some changes caused by possible delays. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the eighth installment of the franchise and the stars have been talking about the next chapter and their aspirations for it -- from setting it in New York to A-listers they'd like to enlist to fill the void left by Paul Walker's death. But all this talk is just up in the air when real logistics aren't in place and most importantly the captain helming this ship is still far from being confirmed.

Recent reports have revealed that the two directors who were initially in the running have both dropped out. James Wan, who directed Fast and Furious 8 is reportedly moving on to work on the sequel of The Conjuring. Inside sources suggest that the real reason for him not signing up for the next film is because he went through a gruelling schedule working on the last which also took a toll on his health. Additionally, Vin Diesel, who is also a producer for the movie, was not easy to work with. He allegedly called on the director to work on his script late at night to feel comfortable about his character and was generally very intrusive in the creative process, particularly the action sequences.

Jason Statham Confirms Return For Fast and Furious 8

Justin Lin was another director the studio was looking to hire. Lin has already directed a bunch of Fast and Furious movies preceding Furious 7. But Lin has also turned down -- what was reportedly a very lucrative deal -- to work on another coveted project, the nest Star Trek movie.

Not only have they not found a director, no new actors have been signed on for Fast and Furious 8. It is a sad state of affairs considering the immense success of Furious 7.
