NBA player Amar'e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis are expected their fourth child following their nuptials on Dec. 12 in New York.

The Knicks player said he and his wife are "blessed" to have another child and that the baby is expected to be born this spring.

"We're both huge on having a nice size family. It was something we've been talking about for a while," Amar'e said, according to People magazine. "It happened naturally and at the right time so it all worked out."

He also confirmed that he and his wife found out Alexis was pregnant only recently, but he called it a "beautiful thing." The couple already have three children: Ar'e, 7, Amar'e Jr., 6, and Assata, 4. Alexis told the New York Post, "They're very, very excited. They just keep guessing if it's a boy or a girl."

Amar'e and Alexis reportedly got engaged on June 2 outside the Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile in Paris. Amare then surprised fans by announcing on Twitter that he married Alexis in a secret ceremony on Dec. 12. Amar'e tweeted "12.12.12 now has a special & spiritual meaning for us," along with a photo of his wedding band and Alexis' ring.

The ceremony was said to have taken place on the roof deck of their apartment on Jane St in New York. The couple invited only 12 guests and an insider said, "They decided to do this because of the date, and they wanted to do something spiritual and private for themselves."

Amar'e and Alexis also attended the 12.12.12 benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy victims at Madison Square Garden.

The couple said they are planning on having a bigger wedding in the summer of 2013 where they will invite more guests, including Amare's teammates.

"It was beautiful to have a private ceremony with close family and friends," Alexis said. "I planned it; I wanted to have something that was more spiritual where we could really understand what being married means. It was a great way to end 2012."

Amar'e then added, "We're planning a big, extravagant Cinderella wedding for Alexis!"
