He's usually very tight-lipped in interviews about both his longtime girlfriend Eva Mendes and their one-year-old daughter Esmeralda, but Ryan Gosling has finally opened up and gushed about both.

In an interview with Hello! Canada, Gosling, 35, talked about his relationship with Mendes, which has been on and off since 2011, though the two seemed to reunite for good in early 2014.  

"I know that I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with," he said.

He also upped the ante with sweet things to say about his significant other by refuting rumors of trouble and his frustration in the relationship-and effectively shooting down any hopes others had he would be single and available again anytime soon.  

When asked about the one quality he looks for in a romantic partner, Gosling shared that only Mendes had the quality he was looking for. 

"That she's Eva Mendes," he said. "There's nothing else I'm looking for." 

Gosling also opened up about his daughter, who made her public debut back on Halloween, and revealed that he is excited about the upcoming Christmas season because it's the first one that his daughter is going to be more aware of.  

"This will be our first Christmas where [Esmeralda is] sort of taking it all in, so that's exciting," he said.
