Customers on the Sprint carrier network confirm that over the air software rollouts are now being pushed to Android LG G4 devices. As GottaBeMobile reports, this new update will bump the phone up from the Android 5.1 Lollipop to the newest sweet treat of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Besides the wonderful new Apple emojis that Droid users secretly covet, the new operating system brings improvements to battery life and device security.

According to the official Android 6.0 changelog, the Doze Mode feature works by putting your device into an actual sleep state when you’re not using it. If you’ve ever tried the battery saver data toggling app called JuiceDefender, the Android Doze feature works in a similar automated manner and doesn’t hinder time sensitive functions like alarm clocks and calendar reminders.

New to Android 6.0 are more interactive user permissions for apps, allowing users to choose what they want to share. Fingerprint readings are easier to set up this time, allowing for secure, password free access to your device and fast and secure payments when using Android Pay, the lay Store and in-app purchases.

As with all major software updates, Sprint usually rolls these out in stages, so don’t be surprised if you don’t get the update on your LG G4 right away. When the update is ready for install, a notification will pop up on the device prompting you to download and install it.

Android 6.0 also comes with overall system enhancements for a more enjoyable user experience, including improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, App links, simplified volume controls, streamlined setting and more.
