Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson did not spend Valentine's Day in Australia after all.

Stewart, 22, who was reportedly set to visit Pattinson, 26, because she was "missing him terribly," did not make it to Adelaide where he is shooting his next film so as not to create "unwanted attention," said a source.

Although the couple have been apart for a month with Pattinson filming The Rover, the On The Road actress will hold off on visiting him because she is "smart enough to know that if she goes to visit, it will bring too much unwanted attention to the film," an insider told E! News.

A source previously told Radar Online "Kristen is planning to travel to Australia to see Robert, she's missing him incredibly." Stewart also planned to see him because she was allegedly concerned that his interest in their relationship had waned, according to the source. Pattinson has reportedly not been in touch with her as much since he left to shoot his film in Australia due to the time difference.

"Robert's been busy filming and hasn't been able to give Kristen as much time as she liked," the source added. "It's been especially difficult to stay in touch because of the 18 and half hour time difference between Los Angeles and Adelaide."

Since Pattinson's departure to Australia on Jan. 17, the couple has allegedly stayed in touch via Skype sessions to keep their temporary long distance relationship alive. Stewart has reportedly appeared naked on-camera on the messaging site to keep things steamy with the British hunk.

"No doubt their sexy sessions have saved them," an insider close to the couple reportedly told OK! "With Skype, they'll share their day with each other and flirt outrageously."

Stewart is set to play a fetishist in a new film The Big Shoe, which is set for release sometime in 2013. Stewart will star alongside another British actor, Jim Sturgess, 31, and The Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks. Sturgess plays the lead as a shoe designer, Banks will play his psychotherapist and Stewart will be his muse named Delphi.
