Comedian and actor Russell Brand talked about competing with One Direction band member Harry Styles for the same women, saying if they crossed paths it might turn into a "sex war" of sorts.

In an inteview with HeatWorld, the 37-year-old said he does not think he and Styles, 19, are after "the same audience female-wise" but when it was mentioned that Styles likes older women Brand added, "What? That's not on. There's got to be carefully defined parameters."

"Otherwise there's gonna be an intergenerational sex war. I like the curly hair. I think he has quite nice lips."

Styles has in fact dated older women - his recent ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, is 23 year olds. Brand finalized his divorce with Part of Me singer Katy Perry in July of 2012. She has since moved on to date singer John Mayer and Brand was spotted in January on a date with a mystery blonde in Los Angeles. He was also romantically linked to actress Juliette Lewis after the two were spotted getting close following a yoga class they took together, according to The Huffington Post.

Styles had a recent Twitter conversation with Brand after the comedian posted a childhood picture of himself on the social media site. He said Brand could "fit in" with the boy band and the actor then retweeted an image posted from a follower and noted how similar he looked to One Direction.

"I could've been in 1D," Brand wrote, and Styles then commented, "fit right in!"

Brand then invited the singer to his Comic Relief show this week, saying, "Come to #Giveitup for COMIC RELIEF I know I can lift 1D."
