Though the next Star Wars movie will not be out until 2015, original cast member Carrie Fisher confirmed that she would return if asked to reprise her role as Princess Leia

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill confirmed that discussions about his character, Han Solo, and Princess Leia appearing in the future Star Wars film have indeed taken place.

"They're talking to us," Hamill said. "George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts-they would write us out."

As another member of the original team of three, Palm Beach Illustrated asked Fisher if she would return as Princess Leis in Star Wars: Episode VII and she replied "yes."

A rep for LucasFilm said to Entertainment Weekly, "We haven't made any announcements about casting" but Fisher revealed that Princess Leia was "in an intergalactic old folks' home...she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle."

The original Solo, Harrison Ford, recently signed on to play a news anchor in the Will Ferrell comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Sources close to the 2015 Star Wars fillm, announced in 2012, said Harrison admitted he is open to the idea of reprising his role.

"Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it, all three of them are," said one source, referring to Ford, Hamill and Fisher.

George Lucas's original Star Wars film debuted on May 25, 1977. Solo, Skywalker, and Princess Leia appeared in two more films and in the last one (1983's Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) they were stranded on the moon of Endor reflecting on the downfall of the Emperor and Darth Vader's act of redemption.
