Sex and the City former actress Cynthia Nixon backed down and said she didn't chose to be gay.

Nixon emphasized yesterday to gay rights magazine The Advocate, that she is bisexual, but not by choice.

"I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. What I have 'chosen' is to be in a gay relationship," the actress said.

Nixon had infuriated gay rights advocates after comments she made to the New York Times Magazine saying being gay was a conscious choice.

"For me, its a choice," Nixon told the NYT Magazine.

Gay rights activists complained that Nixon's comments could be used to fight a biological basis for homosexuality.
